“The American Presidents” Flashcards Kickstarter Launches
A set of 50 flashcards featuring every U.S. President is the PERFECT teaching aid for the classroom and home!
Nashville, Tennessee, October, 1, 2018/Prexly/ –– We all know the challenges that children and educators face, both in school and at home. To that end, artist and creator Yoni Limor – a Nashville native and parent of two – and Pencil Ink Academy are extremely excited to announce that Pencil Ink Academy’s first project: “The American Presidents” Flashcards has launched on Kickstarter.
Organization Summary: Making education accessible is a major challenge. At a time that budgets are being cut, distractions abound, and time is more in demand than ever, creator and artist Yoni Limor wanted to build a new tool to make teaching and learning history fun and engaging. Pencil Ink Academy was founded to help foster and nurture future generations, and to help create a society where knowledge is revered, not ridiculed.
Featuring all 45 Presidents from Washington to Trump, these cards are designed to be not only educational, but entertaining and engaging for elementary students everywhere.
Campaign Announcement: Pencil Ink Academy has launched a Kickstarter campaign to make these cards a reality as of October 1st, 2018. The campaign will run through the month and is looking for support from educators, parents, and citizens everywhere. The campaign can be found here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/yonilimor/the-american-presidents-flashcards with more information available at www.pencilinkacademy.com Campaign ends October 31st, 2018 at 11:59 pm PST.
The campaign’s goal is only $5,000, and the target is to have all rewards out for delivery by 2/1/19 to assure delivery to backers before President’s Day on 2/18/19; well before would be better, so teachers have some time to get acquainted with the materials in case they want to use them on President’s Day.
The Process and Research: When you look at the front side of a flashcard and think of the answer, you are engaging a mental faculty known as active recall. Active recall has been proven to create stronger neuron connections for that memory trace. And because flashcards can so easily facilitate repetition, they are the best way to create multiple memory-enhancing recall events.
Pencil Ink Academy has tapped Tim Smyth of History Comics (www.historycomics.net/) to assist in the creation of 5 supplemental lesson plans plus games and icebreakers to be included in the Classroom Pack Reward, ensuring that educators can get the most possible out of these cards.
